[The pool] was a decisive factor in our decision to relocate here last February. The warm waters provided excellent exercise and therapy as well as a place to meet new friends. The staff and other swimmers welcomed us into Salida with smiles as warm as the waters.

Most public discussion about 2B has focused on the local tourism economy. Little, if any, discussion has considered the impact of the different rates on the city’s capacity to fund improvements to recreation and cultural amenities as earmarked in the new tax.
