Sustainable communities provide the best long term national security.

When we can only be distressed about our own circumstances, let’s share Daoud Hari’s story, and the image of the child waiving from the grass (pg. 97) The Translator

    Thanks.

  2. As the Director of the Alamosa Convention and Visitors Bureau, we have been thrilled with the interest that this massive and beautiful plant has generated. Like the majestic Sangre de Cristos, you never see it the same twice. The light, panel angles, shadows and coloring are always unique as it moves like a live being seeking the maximum sun exposure.

Having installations like this in your backyard is exciting and daunting. The energy production is critical to our future, and the geotourism opportunities are limitless, sustainable, educational and income producing.

We look forward to installing interpretive panels on the highway pull-off built at the edge of the plant so that all visitors can learn what Salida’s 5th graders now know!

Our organization is happy to help you plan a group tour to this plant and other progressive and unique sites in the San Luis Valley. Email me if you’re interested, debra@alamosa.org

Our thanks to Bill for sharing his perspective on his visit to Alamosa. Stop by anytime!
