  1. Thanks Curtis! Keep it up. bd

  2. Glad you mentioned Salida Aspen Concerts. The economy is not helping. Some of us were stragegizing today about attracting new sponsors and keeping our local contributors loyal. This six-concert series during July-August is a big part of Salida’s arts renaissance, having started about the same time as the galleries some 35 years ago. Thanks Curtis.

  3. How great to have a forum! ArtWorks has a mission of cooperation and collaboration in the Arts community. what a great vehicle to foster that.

    THANKS Curtis!

  4. Thanks for the info and article Curtis. This is a big part of being here in Salida and creating my art here. The large sculptures have been going out around the country, but will have one installed at the sculpture Park for ArtWalk 2009 to drive this art home’s art home!

  5. It was amazing to see, in writing, how our little art town became what it is today!
There’s no place I would rather grow up.
Thank you Curtis for all the generous work you do for all the people in our town!

    Cheers, Tara

  7. Thanks Curtis! I look forward to your next article!

  8. so very nice to read up on salida where i lived with my folks while attending salida high school in the late 60′s. i would have graduated in 1970 but we moved back to illinois so i graduated from high school there. i had heard that salida had become quite an artist town since then. i have dabbled in blacksmithing, bowmaking, i haven’t yet started making my own arrows as i can buy nice ones from a friend who makes them. i have also done some felting making mittens and pads to sit on the ground without getting all dewy. i would love to hear from those who graduated in 1970 or 1971. feel free to email me at bisgaardp@yahoo.com i worked at the spa restaurant then owned by paul ausbun. i went to high school with his lovely daughters and my father was the minister of the baptist church on 4th and d streets.
