Salida City Council members voted Tuesday to approve water and sewer fee increases to help fund aging infrastructure. Notably, there have been no increases since 2005. Quarterly sewer rates will be increased from $39 to $45 ($2 per month), while water rates will be increased from $0.85 to $1.00 per thousand gallons. The wastewater treatment plant is operated as an enterprise fund, which means that revenues must cover expenses.
