If costumes, picnics in the park, funky old bikes and ecologically sustainable means of transport are your thing then you will not want to miss the festivities of the 2009 Cruiser Crit Legendary Bike Party on Saturday May 16th.
A little single speed action for all ages is a fantastic way to show your support of the fast approaching, exciting 61st New Belgium FIBArk Whitewater Festival. Helmets and a good time are a must. The Cruiser Crit is a fundraiser to help provide the great line-up of FREE music at FIBArk. There will be 2 parade laps, followed by 3 waves of kids races, and 2-5 lap adult races. (Cruiser bikes only for adults). Registration will be at 3:30pm at the F Street Bridge and the races will start around 4:40pm. There will be a $5.00 fee for kids and $10.00 fee for adults to participate. If you have questions please contact Scot at 719-530-9279
After the race we will be cruising up to Moonlight Pizza where the festivities will include Live Music from the Groove Farmers as well as some awesome beer provided for the adult participants by New Belgium Brewery. The kiddies will enjoy the outside grooves as the adults will bid on a fabulous New Belgium cruiser bike.
Before the Crit starting at 8:30 am the annual spring Clean Up Green Up will be happening. This event is supported by GARNA and the AHRA. For the kids up to 12 years old from 2-4pm there will be an informative Bike Rodeo sponsored by The Salida Police Department and Absolute Bike.
