ArtWorks for the Heart of the Rockies has a new name and face. The ArtWorks organization acts as a catalyst to support Salida artists, musicians and performers. Events and services offered by the group are designed to gear up exposure of our local talent and promote collaboration. In keeping with their purpose, ArtWorks is now Salida ArtWorks with a new logo.
As their first summer activity ArtWorks has purchased two booths at the Farmer’s Market, which is held every Saturday, rain or shine, from 8 am till 12:30 pm in Alpine Park located at F Street and 4th Street. Different artisans are scheduled for each week and will be announced in the Mountain Mail’s “Around Town” each Friday. Artists interested in space can contact Susan Spohn at 539-7120.
Here is another wonderful opportunity to meet our local artists, buy art and mingle with the local Salida crowd. Take home a special piece of pottery, watercolor, or fine piece of jewelry to enjoy with your fresh produce. Shop early for the best selection!

Great turn out for the first Farmer’s Mkt! The artists, including me and my rockets and my “Nest-Leave” hornet’s nest statement, were well received and patronized.
There will be more artists out there tomorrow.
