High winds claim another cottonwood, blocks river below F St. bridge

Fallen ottonwood blocks Arkansas

High winds today claimed another century-old cottonwood tree in Salida, creating a river-wide obstruction about one-eigth mile below the F Street Bride. AHRA crews will begin work to clear an initial passageway along the river so boaters do not have to portage. AHRA expects to create a navigable passage around the tree by the end of the day today.
