My friend Jimmy built this piece and e-mailed it to me. Perhaps he can comment on it?

Hey Bill and Citizen-s, I submitted this piece to the ArtWorks Registry show, ongoing until Nov. 18 at the SteamPlant Paquette Gallery, and the judge Mr. Grant Pound found it artistically worthy of display. The title is “My Valley Has Four Stains Today, But…” and was created after the final meeting and vote by the commissioners on the Nestle APPLICATION. It applies. I felt a comment was due, again.
So, the main board is almost covered in Colorado playing cards, with some Scrabble letters spelling out different words, an arrowhead trophy plaque (figure that one out), 3 pipes and faucet handles, and the initials of the 4 stains, N – G – H – G. Metaphors, I have them.
The snake in the form of an S is actually the positive, and representative of Salida with a heart shaped rock below, and the all seeing eye above. AND, there’s the spike of truth that has occasionally shown up in other pieces of my work.
When there was ever a chance to present a course of action and living, this was a chance to be all united. We pretty much were vocal and committed enough, except for a few. So now to our neutral corners and start some more. This is my latest but not my last.
At a retail gallery price of $800, if this piece of art sells I will donate 20% to CCFS, Chaffee Citizens For Sustainability, to further the efforts of responsible citizenship and environmental stewardship. No politicians will be funded with this particular money, that’s for sure.
Signed, Jimmy Descant, Artist, Salida, CO.
The ArtWorks Registry Show is a awesome again this year. To accommodate the size of the gallery and do a professional presentation, less than half of the entrants could be accepted. Each piece uniquely adds to overall quality so thanks for entering this timely work.
Nice work
