Cancelled: League presents forum on health care reform

The League of Women Voters Chaffee County will hold a health care reform forum, on Monday, November 9th, 2009, at 7:00 p.m. in the Pinon Room of the Community Center, 715 E. Main, in Buena Vista. This meeting is open to the public. We encourage anyone interested to attend and become more informed on the state of our health care.

The speakers are Drs. Irene Aguilar, MD and Tom Bost, MD.

Irene is president of Health Care of All Colorado. She has been a Primary Care Provider at the Westside Family Health Center since 1989. In 2006, Governor Bill Owens appointed Dr. Aguilar to the Colorado Development Disabilities Council which advocates for the establishment and implementation of public policy which will further the independence, productivity and integration of people with developmental disabilities. She is on Medicaid’s Long Term Care Advisory Committee and is working with the state legislators on a committee to study Health Care for Vulnerable Populations.

Tom works as a private Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine Physician for the Centura System in Denver, Colorado. He serves on the Board of Directors of Health Care for All Colorado, a volunteer based non-profit organization that educates Coloradans on Comprehensive Health Care Reform.

We invite all men and women of voting age to become members in our active League of Women Voters chapter. Meetings alternate between Salida and Buena Vista, with carpooling available.
