Monarch opens!

Monarch Mountain will open on the day before Thanksgiving for the 2009-10 season.  The area will have 3 chairlifts: Pioneer, Panorama & Tumbelina and the Children’s Ski School carpet lifts in operation.  The area plans to open the Garfield and Breezeway chairs on Saturday. Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced runs will be open offering packed powder skiing for all levels of skiers and riders.  The Tilt terrain park will be open with new features for this season.

Monarch will have all services in full operation. The rental shop will have ski and snowboard equipment tuned, waxed and ready to go. Monarch’s professional instructors are waiting to help you get your season started off right with group and private ski, snowboard and Telemark lessons. The remodeled Children’s Center will be ready for you to drop off your little ones for a fun day in the snow.

All food and beverage outlets will be open; Starbucks, the Gunbarrel Grill and the famous Sidewinder Restaurant & Saloon will be cooking up delicious new items for you to enjoy. The Monarch Mountain Sport Shop is overstocked with the latest gear from Smith, Volcom, Columbia, Orage, Swany, Stormtech and others so stop in for a huge selection.

Monarch has received 60 inches of snowfall so far this season and currently has a 36 inch mid-mountain base depth.
