On Monday, January 11th, the League of Women Voters Chaffee County will host a speaker on climate change and the public is encouraged to attend. It will be held at the Salida Methodist Church at 4th and D and begin at 11:45 til 1:15. Feel free to bring a lunch. A carpool from Buena Vista will leave the Congregational Church at 10:15.
Presenter Si Gonzalez has a Masters in both Mathematics and Computer Sciences and specializes in mathematical modeling of physical processes. These are the kinds of modeling on which climate predictions are based.
The program will give an overview of climate change and its effects and a summary of the Copenhagen conference. Questions will be taken afterwards.
