These fine folks have been meeting down at the Citizen conference room …a lot! It’s a good crew. As a new person to the Pumtrack phenomenon, I highly recommend you check it out. Just about any bike will work, and you simply pump your way around little rolling hills. It’s a great workout. What Jazzercise is to Tai Kwon Do, pumptrack riding is to Mountain Biking (why do I think I’m gonna catch some grief for that comment). Anyway, help these guys out. It’s a another cool little community effort by good people. -bd
Thank you everyone for your support so far with the Homerun Pumptrack!! We are getting ready to break ground on Salida’s first public pump track and skills course.
Tonight! (March 16th)
Tonight, March 16th, at 6pm we are on the City Council Agenda. The City Council meetings are held at 125 3rd St. If you are available to stop by and show your support it would be very much appreciated.
Saturday
This Saturday is our first volunteer day. Yea! Come join your fellow Pumpaneers and help us try to eliminate the evil “goat head” thorns at Marvin Park. We are meeting at 9am in the parking lot off of Hwy 291. If you are available to help bring a good pair of gloves to protect your hands, we will be trying to pull them out roots and all. Hope to see ya there.
Thank you again,
SBP Committee
The Salida Bike Park Committee is made up of Tony Boone, Arrowhead Trails; Shawn Gillis and Fawn Walker of Absolute Bikes and Wes Stobbe of Mercury Design. The committee is taking up the challenge of designing, building and maintaining a public pump track and a low risk skills area at the Marvin Park Ball Fields.
