Elaine Baca was named Heart of the Rockies Regional Medical Center’s TRAC STAR of the Year at a hospital ceremony on March 15. The hospital’s TRAC STAR embodies the core values that guide employee performance: Teamwork, Recognition, Attitude, Customer Service, Safety, Talent, Accountability and Respect. Baca is administrative assistant in Human Resources and plays a key role in orienting new employees and planning monthly employee recognition events. CEO Ken Leisher presented Baca with the award and noted “Elaine has a warm smile and a wonderful disposition. She is always willing to go out of her way to help with a problem or to answer a question. Elaine exemplifies the T in Teamwork.” Leisher also praised Baca’s ability to solve computer issues and the integral role she plays in organizing hospital events, from the employee Christmas party to decorating the HRRMC floats in the Christmas and FIBArk parades.
Leisher presented Baca with a $1,000 gift check, a fleece jacket with the hospital’s TRAC logo, and a certificate to be professionally photographed. A plaque with her photo will be displayed in the hospital.

HRRMC staff members can nominate any of their colleagues for the TRAC STAR award. The TRAC STAR of the Year is selected by employee vote.
