Publisher to release new book by HRRMC physician

A new book co-authored by Dr. Robert Hunter, director of the HRRMC Sports Medicine Center, will be published this month by Elsevier, a leading publisher of health science books and journals.

“AANA Advanced Arthroscopy: The Knee,” is one in a series of five medical books on arthroscopic surgery. According to the publisher’s website, this book helps physicians “make the most effective use of advanced and emerging, state-of-the-art arthroscopic techniques for managing a wide range of knee problems. Premier arthroscopic surgeons discuss disease-specific options, managing and avoiding complications and rehabilitation protocols.”

The 304-page hardbound book, co-authored by Nicholas Sgaglione, M.D., is accompanied by 14 videos that demonstrate different arthroscopic techniques.

“AANA (Arthroscopy Association of North America) is the leading organization in the world focusing on teaching arthroscopic skills and advancing the discipline of arthroscopic surgery in orthopedics,” said Hunter. “Developing this text allowed me to work with the brightest and best in this country and Canada to bring to orthopedic surgeons current thinking and techniques for the management of knee pathology. It was a thrill to take on the project and even a bigger thrill to complete it.”

Dr. Hunter is a nationally recognized orthopedic surgeon who specializes in treating injuries of the knee and shoulder. He can be reached at The Medical Clinics in Salida at 719-530-2000.

  1. Many, if not all of our patients, that have had contact with Dr Hunter love, admire and/or respect him but one pt told me the other day that Dr Hunter is “an inspiration to his patients” I thought that that was awesome.
