Collegiate Peaks Music Festival

Collegiate Peaks Music Festival is proud to announce the band line-up for its annual music festival on Friday, July 23 and Saturday, July 24, 2010.  Now in its fifth year, this is the first time the festival will feature national recording acts such as Fort Knox Five (first LIVE SHOW in Colorado!) and See-I Thievery Corporation) as well as the top local Colorado artists.  Mixing various genres, the festival appeals to every music lover’s taste and budget.  Tickets for the two-day festival are only $10.00 (Children under 12 are free) and can be purchased through the festival website: http://collegiatepeaksmusicfestival.com

Genre-defying, party rocking, Fort Knox Five headline this year’s festival and will tear the “proverbial” roof off with their infectious break beat, mashup style dance groove missiles. The Washington, DC DJ duo, Jon Horvath and Steve Raskin, will be backed by a full live band, complete with their own sitar player. Fort Knox Five has grown exponentially in popularity recently, performing for large crowds all over the world, including at the 2010 Winter Olympics.

Born out of the legendary Washington DC’s Eighteenth Street Lounge scene, See-I is led by brothers Rootz and Zeebo Steele, guitar sorcerer Rob Myers and bassist Ashish Vyas. Also known for their participation in ESL’s Thievery Corporation, See-I’s core members lay down epic dub / funk / reggae jams with the sole intention of uplifting the crowd to a state of inner dance party bliss.

Rounding out the line-up are some of the best local bands from Colorado: foot stompin’ bluegrass of Elephant Revival and Missed The Boat, to the refreshing sound the up and coming indie-folk band, Paper Bird.

Nestled in the scenic McPhelemy Park near Buena Vista, CO, Collegiate Peaks Music Festival draws over 3,000 fans each year and is earning a reputation as the premiere destination in Colorado to hear great music as well as experience the spectacular outdoors.

Concert-goers can enjoy a variety of lodging options, including camping, cabins, hot spring resorts, or house rentals. On site will be an assortment of food and beer vendors so bring your friends, family, pets, and picnic-blankets, and get ready to dance the weekend away at the 2010 Collegiate Peaks Music Festival! There will be something for everyone, guaranteed!!
