The 24-year-old Korean whom one critic called “the most gifted young pianist of her generation,” returns to Salida Aspen Concerts for the fourth consecutive year. She has soloed with the New York Philharmonic more than ten times. She has performed with the Chicago Symphony, Philadelphia Orchestra, BBC Philharmonic, Colorado Symphony, and Houston Symphony. She will solo either Brahms Klavierstucke Op. 119 or the Carl Vine Piano Sonata No. 1. Then she joins violinist David Halen, concertmaster of the St. Louis Symphony, and Andrew Shulman, principal cellist of the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra, for the rest of the program — Beethoven, Piano Sonata No. 18 in E-flat major (The Hunt); Claude Debussy, Estampes; Sergei Rachmaninoff, Etude and Tableaux Op. 33, No. 6; and Johannes Brahms, Piano Trio No. 1 in B major Op. 8.
