We are writing to thank the community for their avid support of the SBV Cycling Team. SBV Cycling is the new high school mountain bike racing team that is competing in the inaugural year of the Colorado High School Cycling League. We are a composite team of high school students from Salida, Buena Vista, and the Link School. We are two weeks into the season with 30 kids participating and are hosting our first race this weekend at the McMurray Ranch in Nathrop.
We would also like to thank Wes Stobbe for designing our jerseys and Jeremy Petersons for donating parts, tools, and accessories to the team.
We are still looking for volunteers for this weekend. If you are interested in helping out please contact Kate Rau at kate@coloradomtb.org. We look forward to racing hard and having a great season. Thanks to everyone, and please come out and support us in the first ever Colorado High School Cycling League mountain bike race.
Thank You,
The SBV Cycling Team.
We would like to thank all of the individuals who have helped organize the team, come out to practice, and most of all the generous businesses and individuals who have sponsored our team including:
The Boathouse Cantina, Monarch Community Outreach, Absolute Bikes, Subculture Cyclery, The Trailhead, Amicas, Fish Builders, LiveWell Chaffee County, Anything Outdoors!, Ark Valley Therapy Inc., Barking Dog Guides, The Eddyline Restaurant and Brewery, The Fritz, Headwaters Outdoor Lifestyles, SalidaCitizen.Com, South Central Racing, Suites on Third Salida Mountain Sports, The Sweet Spot, The Dangerous Collective.

Huge thanks to the SBV community, McMurry Ranch, Keith and Taf Darner, and Team SBV lead by Coach Fred Maxwell. Your numerous hours of trail work and volunteer efforts on race weekend provided a stellar kick off to the season. SBV riders put the hammer down and coach Heidi Slaymaker pinned it all weekend from course set up to Varsity girls sweep.
See you in October!
