The Green Plum to close its doors

After two-and-a-half years of doing business in Salida, The Green Plum will close its store at 118 North F Street on Sept. 28.  The home furnishings and accessory boutique currently is conducting a close-out sale on all its in-store merchandise.

“It was a difficult decision to close,” says Susan Fox, owner of The Green Plum. “We have enjoyed the opportunity to be part of the Salida business community and to meet so many new friends. While one door closes, we will look for another to open. In the meantime, we are re-designing our Web site to sell online some of our favorites: one-of-a-kind, semi-custom and nature-inspired furniture pieces, gifts and accessories.”

Fox invites anyone who is interested to visit The Green Plum Web site at www.thegreenplum.com. It is currently in the re-design phase with expected completion sometime this month. If you would like to receive the store newsletter announcing any future events or specials, please contact Fox at susan@thegreenplum.com — or sign up via the Web site.

“We are reducing the prices of our merchandise in three phases.  It all is currently marked down by 30 percent.  We plan to reduce it all more — by 40 percent — on Sept. 15.  And then from Sept. 23 to 29, will mark  50 percent to 60 percent off whatever is left.  We’d love for people to stop by and say goodbye or sign our registry to keep up with us.”
