Is this simply a press release? Does it matter? At the Citizen we have long considered this site “a communications tool for the community.” You may use it as you wish. Thank’s to the Eatery (and congrats) and to Jennifer for using the Citizen. We are not an online newspaper, just a venue. Do you have something to say? Hop on the soap box. A popular Salida restaurant has been honored for its exceptional safety record. The Eatery is one of 50 Pinnacol Assurance policyholders to receive Pinnacol’s annual Circle of Safety Award. Representatives from Pinnacol presented The Eatery with the award Friday night at the Salida Golf Club Bar & Grill.
The Eatery makes risk management a top priority, from loss prevention and claims management to safety. The family restaurant’s 20 employees are trained in workplace safety and are encouraged to identify and address potential hazards in the restaurant. Management has fostered an open environment that makes employees comfortable bringing up issues and recommending solutions. During the hiring process, they carefully evaluate potential employees to ensure they hire the right people from the start. And they educate their staff on the claims process to ensure they receive the medical attention they need in case of an accident.
“The Eatery has demonstrated a long-term commitment to risk management,” said Ken Ross, Pinnacol president and CEO. “Not only are the nine criteria for the Circle of Safety Awards extremely difficult to meet, they had to maintain a high level of performance over a four-year period. The Eatery management and staff deserve to be commended for their outstanding achievements, and we are pleased to acknowledge them with this prestigious award.”
The Circle of Safety Award recognizes the “circle” of people required to excel in risk management. From top management and frontline employees to Pinnacol representatives and the policyholders’ agents, everyone has a hand in making Colorado workplaces safer.
This year, a total of 50 Pinnacol policyholders across the state will receive the Circle of Safety Award out of approximately 55,000 Colorado businesses they serve.
