Trail builders unite

SHINDIG! Saturday, October 9, 9:00am:

The Shindig this month will feature excavation work in the middle of the North Backbone trail. The terrain here is a combination of rock formations and connecting side slopes. Volunteers will be able to work on either type.

We are meeting at a place that allows us to access the work area more easily than walking in from the end of the trail. Go up Ute Trail, CR 175, until the pavement ends. At end of pavement, make an immediate right and drive until that pavement ends. (There are No Trespassing signs that you do not have to worry about.) Go straight ahead on the dirt road about 50 yards and park off the side of the dirt road. There should be SMT people there to show you the way to the trail work area, which is up the hill to the North.

We will work until about 1:30 and then retire to Absolute Bikes for a VOLUNTEER LUNCH. Come prepared with water, gloves, long pants and sturdy boots. Tools will be provided.
