Heart of the Rockies Regional Medical Center was recognized as “Best Salida Success” in the Best of Salida 2010 awards.
The hospital was selected by Best of Salida staff “for the important impact the hospital and its new state-of-the-art facility have on the community,” said Leah Underwood, Best of Salida’s co-chief executive officer. “HRRMC was chosen also for the influential role it has and will have in the county’s continued growth through employment, delivery of quality services and community outreach.”
The award noted that “Salida’s new state-of-the-art hospital strengthened our community infrastructure. It allows Salidans access to better healthcare and attracts skilled medical professionals from around the country. No one likes to go to the hospital but we can all agree it eases the pain to have this one.”
Best of Salida 2010 also honored three HRRMC nurses in its second annual community survey. The Emergency Department’s M.A. Hauser was named “Best Nurse,” and the Family Birthing Center’s Mary Beth Netz and Lindsay Haarmeyer were finalists in the Best of Salida reader’s poll, which drew more than 600 votes.
Best of Salida recognizes the best of the Salida community and provides a forum for what Salida citizens feel is best about their community. A complete list of winners is available at www.bestofsalida.com.
