Trout Unlimited holds public fly tying meeting

PRESS RELEASE-On December 8 Collegiate Peaks Anglers will hold its monthly open meeting at Mt Shavano Manor in Salida. Starting time for the program will be 7:00 pm but the social time begins at 6:30. Time to have a coke or coffee, talk with your neighbors and enjoy some pretzels or cookies. This is a whole community event. You do not have to be a TU member to join in the fun. Just come. Everyone welcome. Kids are especially invited.

There will be 4 experienced fly tiers each will focus on a particular fly pattern or type of insect life cycle imitate and will be delighted to answer any question you might have. In addition there will be a novice or beginners table. At that table new tiers or beginners will be introduced to the basics essential to tying your own flies. Tools will be provided for everyone to use. You will be able to go home with a fishing fly that you tied yourself. So regardless of your experiences there will tables to fit your needs and expectations.

Trout Unlimited is the nation’s premier organization devoted to he protection and preservation of our cold water resources. Across the country TU has about 140,00 members and in Colorado we have nearly 9,000 members working to achieve our mission. Come join us.
