Local girl needs community support

Emily Wilson, a 12 year old Salida girl, was diagnosed with Ewings Sarcoma of the skull/brain in Feb. 2009. After 2 brain surgeries, 14 rounds of chemotherapy, and 6 weeks of proton beam radiation, she enjoyed one year of remission.  She was recently re-diagnosed with a recurrence. Despite the devastating news, Emily remains the bravest person we’ve ever met. She inspires everyone who knows her with a grace beyond her years.  As we pray for strength, courage and healing for Emily, we are also moved to help with fundraising.

Please join us Sunday, March 20, 2011 anytime between noon and 7 PM as we “Spring for Emily” with a silent auction fundraiser at The Boathouse Cantina in downtown Salida. We have many amazing items for your bidding pleasure (the initial wave of community support has of course been incredible). A portion of restaurant proceeds from that day will also be donated.

Also on March 20th at 2PM, there will be a benefit concert at Salida’s First Presbyterian Church featuring great music from The Groove Farmers, Ironically Charged and more!
Want to donate an item or volunteer for the event ? Contact us at shomion@hotmail.com . or 719.207.3313.

Donations for Emily’s medical expenses may also be made directly online or locally at High Country Bank account # 0450196405.

You can read more on Emily and her progress at Caring Bridge.
We look forward to a great turnout on the first day of spring, to “Spring for Emily.”
