Salida School District will be hosting a meeting Monday, March 21st from 6-7pm in the John Held Auditorium to update the community on the proposed four-day week and current budget plans. The District would like to give the community an opportunity to share their opinion on the proposed four-day week. To complete the survey, please go here.
Paper copies of the survey are available at any school office. Please note that the deadline to complete the online survey will be Thursday, March 10th at 8pm. Paper copies must be received at the school offices no later than 10am on Friday, March 11th.
The four-day week has been proposed based on a budget shortfall from the state of nearly $800,000. The District has already made extensive cuts in Phase I of the 2011-12 budget. Phase II of the budget involves the four-day week discussion. It is projected to save roughly $170,000 which equates to 2-3 jobs. (See Phase I and Phase II budget estimates here)
