Chaffee County Search and Rescue volunteers were sent to the Mount Princeton trailhead after a call was received at the Chaffee County Communications Center Thursday at about 1:15 pm.

Timbo Scursso of Solarwise Natural Building and Design in Salida is promoting the “Build Local” movement. Using San Luis Valley straw, Canon City clay and Salida timbers, Scursso builds custom strawbale homes that incorporate local and natural materials from the area. Read about his techniques here.

We have just ended the first quarter of 2011. During this quarter our water rates have significantly increased. The residential water bill you will receive in the first week of July will reflect a price hike of about 50%.
