Having conferred with state and federal lands fire managers, as well as with the fire chiefs of the two fire protection districts in Chaffee County, the Chaffee County Sheriff’s Office declares that the present Stage I fire restrictions and fire danger rating of High will remain in effect for all private lands within Chaffee County at least until this coming weekend and likely until next week. The sheriff and fire officials will discuss existing and predicted conditions at their executives’ meeting on Thursday, especially as they might affect the Fourth of July holiday weekend.
