The NWS has lifted the Red Flag Warning for Chaffee County. Accordingly, the NO BURN restrictions that have been in place over the last three days are rescinded. However, we are declaring Stage II restrictions, consistent with those in surrounding counties and now in place within San Isabel National Forest and on BLM lands. These prohibit building, maintaining, or attending any open fire within the county and contain certain specific prohibitions.
Specifically prohibited:
Using fireworks or other explosive material.
Smoking, except within a building or automobile.
Welding or operating similar equipment
Chainsaws and similar combustion engine tools
Allowed:
LP gas or liquid fueled stoves with on/off valve
Fireplaces within enclosed buildings
Charcoal grills, but only at private residences.
