Fall and Winter student Friday photography workshops offered

Tim Brown is offering Student Friday Photography Workshops and is currently  taking reservations for the 2011-2012 Salida School year.  There will be a morning class (9am-12pm) and an afternoon class (1pm to 4pm) with a maximum of 12 students each. The fall semester will run from aprox. Sept 2nd to Dec 9th, and the winter semester will run from aprox. Jan 13th to April  13th, excluding holidays.  The 14 week course will cover all aspects of  beginning/advanced digital photography including but not limited to:

• manual and automatic exposure including white balance, ISO and resolution

• creative composition, lense selection, focus and using flash

• location shooting including portraiture, travel and landscape/nature photography

• still life and studio portraiture

• photojournalism: telling a story with photographs

• Editing and creative manipulating in Photoshop and other software

• custom color and black and white digital printing

• custom matting and framing

• photography business practices

Students are required to have a digital camera with manual capabilities, (ideally a digital SLR or a mid-level digital camera) a laptop computer, although there may be computers available.  There will be local field trips, assignments, and a student art show at the end of each course.   The full course will cost $300.00 plus supplies and lab fees. Location to be determined. This will be an excellent opportunity to learn photography from award winning photographer Tim Brown, whose widely published 30 year career has taken him all over the world for clients such as National Geographic, Outside Magazine, Time Warner, and Patagonia clothing, to name a few.
