everything in between.
CDOT Rail Initiatives
Thurs, Sept 8th – 9:00am to 10:00am
Rail in Colorado is neither a relic from the past or a futuristic fantasy; CDOT is engaged in issues facing passenger & freight rail around the state. Attend this session to meet CDOT’s new Rail Program Manager who is hard at work to position Colorado to take advantage of federal funding opportunities and advance rail initiatives. Session attendees will also learn more about the projects CDOT is working on, including the State Rail Plan and the Interregional Connectivity Study.
Rail 101
Thurs, Sept 8th – 10:15am to 12:00pm
Rail is no longer the passenger and freight transport method of the past, it is now gaining more attention as the solution for the future. Join us to investigate how rail has positioned itself as the new green option for transporting people and goods. This session will provide a primer on basic rail concepts as well as an overview of the rail lines and services that currently exist in our state. We’ll also explore the part Colorado plays in the national rail network.
Demonstrating Performance & Benefits of Transit and Passenger & Freight Rail
Thurs, Sept 8th – 1:00 to 4:00pm
As funding for all forms of public infrastructure come under fierce scrutiny and intense budget battles, now is the time to demonstrate the performance and benefits of transit and passenger & freight rail. Measuring performance is a dominating federal theme and forms much of CDOT’s policy. Hear from national and local experts on the conceptual framework and on real-life implementation strategies.
