How do you like Salida’s trails?

People donate to the Citizen (see those ads on the left?) and we take that money and put it back into the community. In this case we built this donation tube which generates more money for the Salida Mountain Trails. Next time you hike up frontside ask yourself what you’d pay if that trail did not exist, then consider dropping some greenbacks into Mr. Donation Tube Guy’s hungry mouth.

There is an SMT meeting tonight at The Salida Cafe if you’d like to learn about the organization. The meeting starts at 7pm downstairs. Grab a pint and come on down!

This unit has collected over $50 this winter so far, roughly $3 a day. Does that seem like a lot, or a little to you? Let us know.

Salida Mountain Trails is an all volunteer organization commited to building and maintaining sustainable, non-motorized, multi-user trails on public lands adjoining the city of Saliida. We are a chapter of Salida Parks Open Space and Trails, a 501c3 not for profit.

The Citizen is happy to provide a forum for comments and discussion. Please respect and abide by the house rules: Keep it clean, keep it civil, keep it truthful, stay on topic, be responsible, share your knowledge, and please suggest removal of comments that violate these standards. Real names are appreciated, but not required.

  1. I couldn’t make the meeting but am in full support and appreciate the great trails we have in our area!! I’ll feed the tube guy next time I ride by!! THANKS SMT!!

  2. It’s embarrassing but I’ve admired “the tube” many times, but never even realized it was for donations. I’ll drop a few bills in there from now on. Thanks!
