What’s a Design Charrette? It is a design process where several participants brainstorm what they want in the park and a team of architects helps to put the groups’ vision on paper.
Why? The Chisholm House burned down last summer, the City’s insurance carrier has determined the value of the house and will reimburse the city for building replacement and the park is in need of updating. City Council has determined that the park is of great value to the community and that the surrounding neighborhood is underserved as far as parks and recreation amenities are concerned.
How? The City’s plan is to host several community meetings to design a popular park with up-to-date amenities. When the design is final, we will apply for a Great Outdoors Colorado grant to supplement the insurance payment.
