The 2013 City of Salida budget is available to the public at http://cityofsalida.com/_site/wp-content/uploads/2013-Budget-Package.pdf.
Jan Schmidt, city finance director, said Salida’s current financial condition is in pretty good shape overall. “This is mostly due to growth in sales tax revenue and a tight rein on spending,” she said.
Schmidt said the 2013 budget contains just a few operational changes, which are all described in the budget narrative. About half of the budget will be invested in public improvements and capital purchases.
