Input sought on elementary school construction

Salida School District R-32-J will host a community meeting to discuss the new Longfellow Elementary School project on Wed., Jan. 23, at 6 p.m. in the Longfellow Elementary School gymnasium.  This is the first of several biweekly meetings to seek input and review progress on the project to construct a replacement facility for the school.

We will introduce the design and construction team for the project and review the process intended for the programming, schedule and design of the new facility.  A slide show on high-performing school-design features will be presented by the project architect, Bennett Wagner & Grody Architects, followed by an open discussion on the vision for the new school.

Parents, students, staff and community members are encouraged to attend to help ensure that the new elementary will serve Salida’s need, now and for future generations to come.  For more information, please contact Darryl Webb, Superintendent of Schools, at the district administration building at 719-530-5200.
