The Natural Resource Center is an effort to consolidate Salida’s resource management agencies on a single multiagency campus. Agencies that currently have a presence in Salida include the U.S. Forest Service, U.S. Bureau of Land Management, U.S Department of Agriculture – Natural Resources Conservation Service, Colorado Division of Parks and Wildlife, Colorado State Forest Service. Construction of a new U.S. Forest Service facility is currently underway.
Discussions with Colorado Parks and Wildlife are coming to fruition. This newly merged state agency is in negotiations to purchase Lot 3 of the NRC subdivision adjacent to the U.S. Forest Service facility. Initial conversations have also begun with Colorado State University about the possibility of a presence in Salida.
If you have questions about the Natural Resource Center, please review the information on the city website or attend the meeting on Monday. If you are unable to attend, please contact Dara MacDonald, Salida City Administrator and NRC Board member at 530-2629 or email@example.com.
