LiveWell Colorado’s advocacy efforts rely on the strength and voice of our Grassroots Advocacy Power Program (GAPP) participants. GAPP is a group of Colorado citizens who are motivated to actively participate in generating more healthy eating and active living opportunities in our community and throughout the state. We are recruiting new GAPP members to send emails, make phone calls, and share information when needed to influence public policies.
We expect to use the GAPP during the 2013 legislative session to activate citizen support for HEAL-related legislation, including the continuation of the Colorado Food Systems Advisory Council.
The best part of being a GAPP member is that we make it easy for you to effectively speak up about issues related to healthy eating and active living. You are provided with background information, tools and sample messaging that allow you to reach out, voice your opinion and make a difference with just one or two minutes of your time. Our action alerts are very targeted to the constituents of the relevant elected officials for a specific bill or issue, so you won’t be inundated with requests.
