Salida, CO – In its first foray into the natural products trade, Don’t Go Nuts, a division of Pinto Barn, garnered a coveted Nexty Award. The award is given to select exhibitors identified as key leaders and influencers shaping the future of the natural health and wellness landscape on display at the recently concluded Natural Products Expo West in Anaheim, Calif.

“We are excited, honored and deeply humbled to be among the two percent of exhibitors to receive this recognition,” said Jane Pinto, CEO and co-founder.  “We are so pleased to share this news with our Chaffee County community, who has supported our vision from day one.”

Pinto said Expo organizers told her they not only loved the products but also were impressed by the company’s Field to FingersTM Nut-Free Process and the “youthful energy” of Pinto’s twin 12-year-olds and Don’t Go Nuts co-founders, Lily and Mesa.

In April and May, industry insiders and consumers will be able to vote for their favorite Nexty nominees. New Hope editors will then announce a small number of Editors’ Choice winners.

Don’t Go Nuts’ commitment to delicious and nutritious nut-free foods attracted hundreds of new fans from among Expo West attending retailers, media and fellow manufacturers who sampled the company’s line of five organic, non-GMO, nut-free, gluten-free, vegan and kosher soy butters: Chocolate, Cinnamon Sugar, Slightly Sweet, Lightly Sea Salted and Pure Unsalted. Company co-founder Doug Pinto missed the trade show in order to help oversee preparations for the company’s new nut-free manufacturing facility set to open here next month. The state-of-the-art facility will be a cornerstone of the company’s Field to Fingers process. In addition to soy butters, the plant will produce nutritional energy bars and other nut-free foods for kids with nut allergies and the world around them.

At Expo West, Pinto Barn also debuted Sacred Sleep, the company’s lifestyle sleep wellness division. In addition to industry accolades and trade show floor buzz, the brands attracted the attention of dozens of leading national broadcast, print and digital editors and bloggers. Natural Products Expo West is produced by New Hope Natural Media, the leading media resource and information provider for the natural, organic and healthy products industry, with print, in-person/event, and e-business products and services.

What a great asset to our valley the Pinto family brings to us, I feel so blessed to live here (in now our thirteenth year), with people like them. Their values about life are what America is all about.
    Thank you Pinto family.

I applaud the creativity coupled with local economy boosting that the Pintos are bestowing upon Salida. Anyone who has the ambition to do a start-up manufacturing company in our town has my utmost gratitude. Small, local business growth is what we need so desperately. Thank you for doing it here. Can't wait to taste the finished product!
