Chaffee County Running Club

The Chaffee County Running Club’s mission is to promote running for health, recreation and competition for runners of all ages and abilities in Chaffee and surrounding counties. The group has about 75 members ranging from 5 to over 70 years of age. Running abilities range from beginners to serious runners running distances from 1 to 100 miles.

The club currently organizes a number of informal regular events and gatherings centered around a common theme of running. During the summer months, the club gathers weekly for a Wednesday evening run of 60-90- minutes. Other gatherings include a weekend run, track workouts and speed work, going to races together, special longer runs, adventure mountain runs, and potlucks.

The club puts on a dozen more formal runs and races such as the Run Through Time marathon, The Goblin Gallop Kids fun run, the Spiral Drive run, Two Turkey Relay, Turquoise Lake 20 mile Snowshoe Run, and others.

Current Club direction leans more toward the social and recreational aspects of running as opposed to the serious competitive aspects.

Membership in the CCRC is open to all. Members get benefits like an informative newsletter, race and gear discounts, invitations to special runs and events and more.
