It began quietly, as an email to 40 friends. But when a steady stream of customers began coming through the door before the family-owned Chagrin Hardware had even opened for the day on Saturday, it was clear that it had turned into much more than that.

Salida School District R-32-J is taking the next step in the development of the New Salida High School campus. As part of the regularly scheduled work, we will begin demolition of the Andreas Field House in March 2012 with the remainder of the existing High School campus starting late May 2012.

The Collegiate Peaks Chapter of Trout Unlimited is sponsoring this 3-week class on Fridays, February 3, 10, and 17th. It will be held at Boys & Girls Clubs at 340 E. 5th Street from 9 AM-noon. Cost is FREE, but students must register at Boys & Girls Clubs, Salida Middle School Office, or Crest Academy BEFORE January 25thas there is a 12 student limit.

Today Apple unveiled iBooks 2, a “new textbook experience” for the iPad. This represents the company’s attempt to bury traditional schoolbooks and change the landscape forever. Fortunately, because we passed the BEST grant, we have the ability to be at the leading edge as the old textbook quickly dies.
