New math program for middle school students offered on Fridays(1)
A program using the “ Khan Academy,” a highly successful and widely used on-line learning system, combined with active hands on instruction, practical “real world” problem solving, and games that make math fun to learn, will be offered each Friday for 8 weeks starting January 13th.

State Street between the back of Salida Middle School and the Football Field is CLOSED to all vehicles except those driven by the school transportation department (buses specifically), from 7am until 4:30pm on school days. You will be ticketed!

Non-Violent Communication course helps Chaffee County Detention Center inmates(0)
Since March, Patty LaTaille, a professional mediator and executive director of Restorative Justice, has taught Intro to NVC to men and women at CCDC in separate weekly classes. Eight of the male inmates who participated in the 12-week course were awarded with a Certificate of Completion in a graduation ceremony attended by 11th Judicial District Chief Judge Charles Barton.
