Coca Cola asked the National Park Service to not ban the sale of plastic water bottles. Incredibly, the head of the National Parks Service bowed to Coke, and cancelled the Grand Canyon’s bottle ban.

The Department of Veterans Affairs has awarded a $580.2 million construction contract to build the Denver VA Medical Center (VAMC) replacement facility on the same campus as the University of Colorado Hospital complex in Aurora, site of the former Fitzsimons Army Medical Center.

As a longtime public sector manager, I’ve learned that cooperation, even among people with widely disparate views, invariably works better in achieving common goals than assuming an adversarial stance. That’s why I’m disappointed in reading and hearing about disparaging public comments by some of our elected municipal officials in response to our county commissioners’ efforts to address the County’s budget crisis.
