The City of Salida invites you to a public meeting February 9th, 2012 at 5:30 pm at the Salida SteamPlant to discuss the Salida Siding Trail Project and the River Corridors Initiative Project grant with Great Outdoors Colorado (GOCO). The project and grant process will be described, a power point presentation will show the project in detail and plenty of time will be available for questions and input.

Pridemore Construction will have G St from Third St to Fourth St closed from February 1st-February 2nd for construction on a new sewer service line. If any concerns arise please call Public Works at 719-539-6257. Thank you for your patiences.

Wastewater Treatment Plant construction began September 28, 2011 with mobilization, excavation and demolition of old equipment. During the last four months, 40,000 yards of earth have been removed from the site and stored on property owned by Larry Hughes to use for future backfilling around the new treatment system.

The City of Salida will present the Draft Centennial Park Master Plan during an open house to be held at 5:30 p.m. January 26 in the SteamPlant Annex; 220 W. Sackett. Public comment will be accepted following the presentation.

Audrey Gilpin has been selected to serve as the new Deputy City Clerk for the City of Salida, Interim City Administrator Dara MacDonald announced Friday. Starting with the City in November 2011, Gilpin has served as the administrative assistant as well as acting deputy city clerk. Previously, Gilpin was a reporter for The Mountain Mail.

The one common factor that we have found that causes meters to freeze is the lack of use. This can happen if a property owner is gone for a length of time. The longer someone is gone, the more likely that the water meter will freeze.
