The Central Colorado Humanists are pleased to sponsor annual scholarships for local area high school students. The scholarship program was established to honor and support exceptionally qualified high school seniors who are planning to continue their education at an accredited two- or four-year college or university.
Scholarship candidates should have at least a 3.0 GPA (or the equivalent) and have participated in some form of community service during their high school careers. Evaluation will be based on the student’s high school record, his or her personal narrative and goals, and on a 500-750 word essay. While a student need not demonstrate financial need to be eligible for one of these scholarships, CCH may consider need in making the awards.
Scholarship applications can be obtained at area high school counselors’ offices. Applications are also available for download at www.centralcoloradohumanists.org.
The deadline for submitting the application and all supporting materials is March 31, 2018.
Finalists may be required to appear before the Scholarship Committee for a personal interview.
Humanists seek knowledge from science, guidance from reason, inspiration from nature and art, and motivation from compassion. We are pleased to be able to offer educational scholarships to students who demonstrate, personify, and aspire to uphold these humanist values.
