SUMMER CAMP FRIDAY. Everything you love about our CAMP Friday Program during the school year – we take outside for the summer. We will focus on all kinds of movement and fitness – jumping, running, hiking, wiggling, and spinning to get your little ones active and learning. Every week we will be at a different park around Salida taking advantage of walking paths, grassy areas, wandering streams and play structures. FRIDAY, JUNE 8th – AUG 3rd 9-12pm; COST: $5, Ages: 5-8. Locations: 6/8, 7/6, 7/27 Riverside Park; 6/22, 7/13, 8/3 Chisholm Park; 6/29 & 7/20 at Centennial Park
LINE DANCING. Learn the steps, feel the music and practice to the beat! Betty Scofield is back again to teach this terrific class. Betty specialized in showing a wide range of people with varying ability levels how to have fun on the dance floor. No matter when you start, or at what level, you’ll catch up in no time. This is a great opportunity to get out and move to music while getting exercise at the same time. No partner required. All ages welcome. Intermediate level from 9:30-11am, beginner from 11-12pm.

Co-Ed YOUTH TENNIS SKILLS CLINIC. Join Salida Rec this summer for this 4-day tennis clinic aimed at introducing youth to the sport of tennis including basic strokes and hand-eye coordination skills. These drills will benefit those who are just learning, as well as those who have played before. Coached instruction will be provided along with fun games and real-time game scenarios. Please bring comfortable clothes and water. Some equipment provided but bring your own racket if you have one.

HIGH FLYIN’ FUN WITH CAPTAIN ZIPLINE. The Lost Canyon Aerial Course complex is an amazing structure that consists of interconnected “elements” up in the air. Elements such as swinging bridges, swinging logs, cargo nets, balance beams and tunnels pose challenges while developing skills and building confidence. A “Smart Belay” system keeps the participant clipped to the safety cable at all times. Bring snacks, water, sunscreen and layered clothing.

THURSDAYS@6 SUMMER CONCERT SERIES CONTINUES! Summer concert series presented by Salida Recreation, Charter Spectrum, High Country Bank, Settings Event Rentals, Heart of the Rockies Radio and The Mountain Mail. This series of 10 concerts will happen every Thursday evening in Riverside Park from 6-8pm. The concerts are free, but donations are collected each week to benefit the Salida Recreation Youth Scholarship Fund. The fund is available for any qualifying family to use towards any Salida Recreation sponsored program or swim pass. WATER FITNESS CLASSES continue throughout the summer on a June/July Schedule. Classes include: Aquacize, Arthritis, Cardio Splash, Splash!
