SUMMER CAMP FRIDAY. Everything you love about our CAMP Friday Program during the school year we take it outside for the summer. Every week we will be at a different park around Salida taking advantage of walking paths, grassy areas, wandering streams and play structures.
FRIDAYS through AUG 3rd. COST: $5, Ages: 5-8. Riverside Park on 7/27; Chisholm Park on 8/3; Centennial Park on 7/20

MOUNT PRINCETON WATER SLIDE. A must do this summer. With just a short walk to the top of the water slide, jump on your mat and ride the six giant turns emptying into the 75-degree pool – perfect for a hot summer’s day! Bring a lunch or money, water, sunscreen, suit, towel and a change of clothes. We do need a minimum of 10 people to go so be sure to register early.
WED, JULY 18th from 10-3pm & WED, AUG 1st, Drop off/Pick up at Aquatic Center; COST: under 12 $20; 12+ $25; Ages: all ages, under 8 must be accompanied by an adult

YOUTH SUP CLINIC. Spend the day stand up paddling around a private reservoir with beautiful views of the Collegiate Peaks. This course will be offered on Flatwater. Professional instruction by RMOC with transportation from RMOC to course site. Drop off and Pick Up at RMOC office 23850 US Hwy 285, BV.
WED, JULY 25th from 9am – 4pm; COST: $60/person; Ages: 8-18 *Waiting List

HIGH FLYIN’ FUN with CAPTAIN ZIPLINE. The Lost Canyon Zipline Tour consists of 6 exciting, high-flying cable rides between 200-700 feet in length and are stretched over a gorgeous canyon some 150-200 feet deep. This adventure has a high “thrill to skill” ratio, in that most anyone can do it, but it takes a little instruction and practice.
FRI, JULY 27th from 8:30 – noon; Drop off/Pick up at Aquatic Center; COST: $54/person; Ages: 8+

THURSDAYS@6 SUMMER CONCERT SERIES CONTINUES! Summer concert series presented by Salida Recreation, Charter Spectrum, High Country Bank, Settings Event Rentals, Heart of the Rockies Radio and The Mountain Mail. This series of 10 concerts will happen every Thursday evening in Riverside Park from 6-8pm. The concerts are free, but donations are collected each week to benefit the Salida Recreation Youth Scholarship Fund. Food and beverages are not available at the park – pack a picnic and bring the whole gang. Please leave dogs at home.

WATER FITNESS CLASSES continue throughout the summer. Classes include: Aquacize, Arthritis, Cardio Splash, Splash! Water Volleyball, Water Yoga, Water Pilates and the Weekend Workout. *Silver Sneakers and Silver & Fit memberships accepted. LINE DANCING. Learn the steps, feel the music and practice to the beat! Betty Scofield is back again to teach this terrific class. Betty specialized in showing a wide range of people with varying ability levels how to have fun on the dance floor. No matter when you start, or at what level, you’ll catch up in no time. This is a great opportunity to get out and move to music while getting exercise at the same time. No partner required. All ages welcome. Intermediate level from 9:30-11am, beginner from 11-12pm.
MONDAYS & THURSDAYS, JUNE 11th - SEPT 13th. SALIDA SCOUT HUT; COST: $4 / day, no preregistration required.

COUNTRY & WESTERN DANCING. Country western dances typically consist mostly of two-step country dances, with some waltz and swing dances included. The basic two-step is easily learned and can be danced to a wide variety of music. Flourishes can be added to keep the dancers challenged and to allow them to show off!
WHERE: Salida Scout Hut; WHEN 8/24, 9/28 & 10/26, dances start at 7pm with lessons from 7-7:30 and open dancing until 8:30. COST: $5/person
