** 350 Central Colorado Presents “The Human Element” Film Aug. 7 at First Presbyterian Church**
350 Central Colorado Presents the environmental film “The Human Element - A Photographer’s Journey In the Anthropocene” Tuesday, Aug. 7 at 7 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall of the First Presbyterian Church, 7 Poncha Blvd., Salida.
National Geographic photographer James Balog’s film is a visually stunning documentary capturing the global impact of changes brought on by climate change. The Human Element, “the fifth element” is changing the other four; water, earth, air and fire, Balog says, and shaping the earth as we know it. Balog documents the collision between people and nature through stories ranging from Chesapeake Bay’s dwindling Tangier Island to California’s record-breaking wildfires of 2017 to last summer’s three devastating hurricanes. A $5 donation is suggested to offset costs of airing the film. A discussion will follow the movie, and refreshments will be provided.
