Seeking Volunteers to Help Build a Moveable Hoop House - This Friday at the Community & School Farm!

This Friday, August 24th, Guidestone is building a moveable hoop house at the Community & School Farm on Holman Ave (next to the dog park) to support the Farm to School Initiative, which grows healthy local produce for Salida School District cafeterias. This unique hoop house moves along a tracking system and will provide season extension for getting more produce into school cafeterias longer into the school year, and will be a great demonstration model for others interested in extending their growing season! We are seeking volunteers to support in this building process - there are two 3-hour shifts available: 9am-12pm and 12:30-3:30pm, with 3-4 people per shift. No previous hoop house building experience necessary, and tools will be provided.

Sign up here to put your enthusiasm and energy to work in support of local food for local schools and our community's kids!
