Giving Tree to Benefit Shelter Pets

Giving Trees to benefit shelter dogs & cats are up at Salida and Buena Vista locations of Gone to the Dogs. The holiday trees are decorated with photo ornaments of the current resident dogs & cats at Ark Valley Humane Society. There is a list of items that can be purchased to benefit the shelter dogs and cats. The list include such items as special dietary treats, indestructible chew toys, orthopedic beds, training sessions, easy walking harnesses, winter coats and more. The main wish of all of the animals is for a permanent, forever home. The special gifts will add to each pets overall enrichment of life during their time at AVHS. Anyone wanting to give can come into Gone to the Dogs 7 days a week from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm. The Salida location is at 235 W. Rainbow Blvd. and the Buena Vista location is at 300 E. Main. Gone to the Dogs will deliver the special gifts to AVHS no later than December 24. For more information, Call 539-4220 in Salida or 966-5445 in Buena Vista.

  • What a wonderful idea, but it might be more fruitful in a higher traffic location such as the new Natural Grocers (there were folks lined up around the block last week to get into the place) or Wal Mart. I'd bet either of these places would be happy to help the shelter pets, especially if it didn't cost them anything but good will....

    Just sayin.
