Volunteers needed, runners encouraged to register soon for Run Through Time

The 14th Annual Run Through Time Marathon and Half Marathon in Salida will take place on the Arkansas Hills Trail System on Saturday, March 9. Currently the half marathon field is 90% full, and the marathon field is 75% full, and interested runners who have not yet registered are encouraged to do so soon. There will also be a two mile fun run, which costs $10, and a free 400 meter kids run on race day. The two mile run will begin at 9am, and the kids run will begin at 10am in Riverside Park.

Volunteers are still needed, either as a course marshal, at registration and the start/finish area, or at an aid station. Volunteers are crucial to the success of this event, and are very much appreciated! All volunteers will receive a pair of custom race socks, a light meal after their shift at the Scout Hut, and a volunteer appreciation dinner.

There will be roughly 450-475 runners out on the Arkansas Hills Trail System and surrounding roads on March 9. While all roads and trails remain open to all other users, please be aware that these areas will be very busy with runners between 8am - 3pm. Trails/roads included in the race courses include Sweet Dreams; Backbone; Rumba; Cottonwood; Pauli; Uncle Nazty; Prospector; Upper Sand Dunes; Lil Rattler’; and Frontside. Roads include CR 173; CR 175; CR 181; and CR 177.

The Run Through Time is a large fundraiser for Salida Mountain Trails, and a favorite early season race for runners from all over Colorado and neighboring states. We appreciate the community’s support and enthusiasm in hosting this event for 14 years. For more information, or to register, visit chaffeerunning.org.
