I just heard President Obama announce the easing of USA’s relationship with Cuba. I say Hallelujah! Fifty years is a long time to boycott a country so close to our shores. The saying, “Keep your friends close and your enemy closer,” certainly applies here.
To those of you who find the President’s announcement alarming (perhaps any announcement from our President alarming), remember it was Richard Nixon who eased our relationship with China, opening up new markets and allowing a dialog between our countries. If you accept President’s Nixon’s action, why not accept President Obama’s action?
