Local Artists Create Bike-Themed Art to Be Auctioned At Crest Crank After-Party - Sun, Sept 20

Salida, CO – Eight local artists have created original bike art pieces that will be auctioned off during the Monarch Crest Crank after-party silent auction, which will be held on September 20 from 12:00pm-4:00pm in Riverside Park and will be open to the public. The bike art was a major showpiece during last year’s silent auction, and this year includes contributions from Jessica Vogel, Lori Tatum, Tina Gramann, Curtis Killhorn, Lynn Van DeWater, Natalie Kiser, Michael Haynes, and Lindsay Sutton.

The silent auction is a popular addition to the ride and is held at the Crest Crank after-party in Riverside Park from 12:00pm-5:00pm. Other silent auction items include cycling gear, fly-fishing wade trip, health and wellness gift certificates, river rafting trips, home and garden accents, Arkansas River vacation rental, hot springs excursions, and many other fantastic items. In addition to the silent auction, the party will feature live music and libations from local breweries and distilleries.

The art pieces will be displayed in a special “preview” on Saturday, September 19 at Subculture Cyclery, from 5:00pm- 8:00pm.

The Monarch Crest Crank, in its 17th year, is an annual fundraiser for the Alliance Against Domestic Abuse and uses the funds for its programs that empower survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault through education, services, and social change. Riders have the chance to win great prizes, including a cruiser bike courtesy of Subculture Cycles, through personal fundraising.

Rider numbers are limited by Forest Service permits, so registration is limited and spots are filling up fast. Organizers encourage early registration at www.monarchcrestcrank.com/registration or in-person registration is available at Subculture Cyclery, September 19, 5:00pm-8:00pm.

Sponsorship opportunities are still available. Please visit www.monarchcrestcrank.com to view the current sponsors of this event and learn how to get involved.
